Instrument Donations

students with donated instruments
Do you have a musical instrument you’d like to donate? Do you want us to pick it up at your home or office?

Want the instruments to go to a wonderful cause — to New York City schoolchildren in underprivileged neighborhoods?

Are your instruments in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Riverdale, Westchester County, Long Island (Hamptons, Montauk)?

If so, we’ll arrange a pickup of your donated instruments and place them in low-income public schools and in the hands of the children we serve.

MusiCan, founded in 2009, is a nonprofit that provides music programs to children in low-income neighborhoods in New York City’s public schools. We are a 501(c)3 charity and can provide a receipt for your donated items.

MusiCan is in need of the following musical instruments:

Guitars, electric keyboards or digital pianos, bass guitars, drum pads and drums. Amplifiers. Horns (trumpet, saxophone, trombone, flute, oboe, clarinet);

Strings (violin, viola, cello, ukulele, string bass);

DJ equipment: mixers, controllers and interfaces, turntables, vinyl, microphones, speakers, mike stands.

If you have something unusual, like an accordion, just ask. If we can find a home for it with the kids, we will.

Our dream list? A grand piano or a baby grand piano in excellent playing condition.  We have two, Title-1 public schools in the South Bronx and Brownsville, Brooklyn with space that would love one!

(Apologies but at this time we cannot take upright pianos.)

To proceed, fill out the contact form below. We respond within 2 to 4 hours, seven days a week. Pickups can be arranged within a short time frame. You may also call or text MusiCan director Joe Berger at 646-320-3131.
