Childrens’ social and academic development suffers without music. That’s where we chime in. MusiCan gives New York City kids a chance to express their creativity in a fun and structured way.
We motivate students to explore their individuality by making music with the instruments of their choice. We see (and hear) the difference in our students!
We understand that every child is one-of-a-kind and encourage them to march to the beat of their own drum. We believe this mindset resonates with kids and prompts them to reach their full potential.
We see our students grow and change as they master instruments and learn to work in groups with other students. We see a direct correlation between their music education and their boost in self confidence.
We provide the instruments. The students pick what they want to play.
We offer music programs that are culturally relevant to our students. All they have to do is sign up!
Whether singing alone, or with accompaniment, we give students an opportunity to find their voice.
It doesn’t get much better than recording your own music. That’s why we offer our band workshops on weekends.
